THE CROWN, TWICKENHAM

Grade 2 listed and dating back to the 1730s, the Crown in Twickenham is a local stalwart. The pub, beer garden and dining room with a spectacular barrel-vaulted ceiling combine to offer a venue for all generations.

In 2023 Kirk Nolan undertook a careful refurbishment of the business which has uplifted its somewhat dated appearance.

Its geographical proximity to Twickenham stadium has made it popular with rugby fans as well and the layout is one that copes smoothly with the ebb and flow of people through its spaces.

Small changes such as stripping the paint finish from the bar counter and polishing the joinery has rebalanced the business and anchored its identity as a traditional pub and intensified its depth of character.  Carefully chosen colours have been used to highlight a number of architectural features bringing the beauty of the building to the forefront of the designs in an understated way.
