Kirk Nolan is a creative partnership of architecture and interior design set up by Andrew Kirk and Kate Nolan in 2020 following several years of working collaboratively at another practice.

They have a wide-ranging portfolio spanning hospitality, residential and heritage design. The studio has extensive experience designing restaurants and bars that balance character, commercial performance, and long-term durability, often within existing or listed buildings.

Kirk Nolan has completed numerous projects in hotels, and unconventional and complex settings, including art galleries, airports, and sporting arenas, where venues must work hard within tightly defined structures. Their experience covers both high-end and high-street environments and includes work for international brands, bringing a strong understanding of brand, guest experience, and operational efficiency.

Much of Kirk Nolan’s work sits within the highly competitive commercial sector, where budgets and programmes are of critical importance. This has led to a pragmatic, solutions-led approach, and a proven ability to navigate the challenges that inevitably arise during live and complex projects.

    DIRECTOR / INTERIOR DESIGNER

    Andrew started his interior design career in Dallas, Texas whilst studying for a Masters in Fine Art.

    After returning to the UK and gaining experience in a variety of design fields, he became a specialist interior designer for the hospitality industry.

    His portfolio includes a variety of projects for different hospitality sectors. Andrew has a wealth of experience designing restaurants in other spaces including museums, art galleries and high end retail.

    DIRECTOR / ARCHITECT

    Kate has extensive experience across the hospitality and residential sectors and over the years has worked on a variety of projects for private, commercial and local authority clients.

    Kate has a particular interest in conservation and heritage so if your project involves bats, listed buildings, lath and plaster or the unexpected, Kate will happily rise to the challenge

    After studying in Cardiff, Hannah chose to specialise her career in design for the hospitality industry.

    Kate & Andrew welcomed Hannah into KIRK NOLAN in 2021. Her 20 years of experience have been a huge benefit to the company and the services we can provide.

    Due to Hannah’s ability to produce innovative designs, complex visualisations, and meticulous project co-ordination and communication, she has become an indispensable part of the team
